The interim standard details requirements related to wiring, mounting, fire protection, labels, and consumer instructions. A technical study tested representative plug-in solar products on domestic electrical systems, finding stable operation under controlled conditions. Retailers have been preparing for the launch of this new product category before the August deadline. The approved formats include small solar kits suitable for balconies, gardens, and other outdoor areas, potentially offering an alternative for homes unable to install traditional rooftop panels. Systems utilizing the new connection method are not legally operable before August 27. From that date onward, only products approved within the 800-watt limit can connect through a standard household socket.
